LED TV Sizes Choosing the Right Size of LED TV for Your Room
LED TV sizes vary offer you several LED TV options to choose from. These sizes are available so you can choose a TV that will offer you effortless and optimized viewing in any room. Choosing the right TV size is not usually prioritized by TV buyers.
A lot of TV buyers go by the mistaken notion that bigger is better. This is not necessarily true, especially since not all huge TVs offer good picture and viewing angles, factors which you should also consider. Also, a screen that is too large can be exhausting for your eyes and may even bring headaches for some consumers. On the other hand, you can’t exactly go for smaller sizes because you wouldn’t want to join the bandwagon consisting of people wishing they had bigger TVs.
Figuring out the right LED TV sizes for your rooms can be quite tricky, so make sure you know which factors to consider so you won’t choose wrong.
LED TV: What’s Your Size?
In choosing your LED TV size, the “go for the biggest size” rule still applies, but it is not enough. You have to go for the biggest size “that can be comfortably accommodated by your room” while still providing sufficient viewing distance and fitting perfectly within your desired price range.
Room Size and Viewing Distance
First, consider the size of your room and determine the location or positioning of your TV and the viewing distance this affords you. The bigger the TV, the larger the viewing distance should be. The viewing distance should also be larger for when you are buying an HDTV than when you are buying traditional sets.
For example, a 26-inch TV should have a viewing distance of around 3 to 5 feet for optimal and comfortable viewing. For a 32-inch TV, you should put at least 4 feet to 6 feet distance between you and the TV. For a 40-inch TV, a 5 to 8 feet viewing distance would be ideal. But if you go bigger than 55 inches, your viewing distance should also reach up to 10 feet.
TV positioning
The positioning of your TV in a room should also be considered. Most homeowners usually already have a specific location in mind before they scour the shops for a TV. In fact, most even already have TV stands waiting for the TV. This will affect the right TV size for you. Naturally, you have to go with the TV size that can be accommodated by the location you have in mind.
For this, however, you also have to consider the space you will need for additional accessories such as speakers and components, if you plan on getting these add-ons.
TV picture Quality
The picture quality of your TV is another important factor in determining the proper size of your TV. If you choose a high-quality TV with excellent picture quality and deep contrasts, you can go with a smaller size that fits your budget since the excellent picture quality will more than make up for the difference in size. This means that even if you scale down the TV size, you can still enjoy top-of-the-line viewing because your TV has excellent contrast and picture quality.
Budget
Different LED TV sizes of the same TV model are priced differently, so if you are eyeing the specs and features of a particular TV model, one of the determining factors for the size you go for is your budget. Choose a TV not only for its size but also for what it offers on the overall. Do not go for a cheap TV that can get you the biggest size for your budget. It is by far better to stick to a smaller screen size version of a TV brand and model that offers a high-quality picture.
Weight Support
This is related to TV positioning and how or where you plan to install your TV. This is because considering the size of your screen with relation to the size of your TV stand is not enough since the screen size also affects the weight of your TV. Even if your TV stand can accommodate your screen comfortably, you still have to check whether the stand can support its weight.
Common LED TV Sizes
There are several common LED TV sizes the market offers, so you will be able to find the right screen size for any room size. You just have to know how to choose. The common LED TV sizes in the market are 55, 47, 46, 42, 40, 38, 37, and 32 inches. You will commonly find the top brands like Samsung, Sony, Sharp, and Toshiba offering these sizes.
HDTVs usually stick to a 55-inch limit, while plasma screens usually go beyond. Take note, however, that HDTV with 16:9 wide screens are measured diagonally instead of horizontally. So when you say 55 inches, this is the diagonal measurement of the TV.
