Annoying problems that Panasonic works hard to eliminate

Panasonic has been manufacturing television sets for over 50 years, and there are a number of Panasonic TV Problems that have been reported over the years. As time has gone by, many of these problems have been resolved, but as new models are introduced, new problems will always arise.

With each era of type of television, such as CRTs, LCDs, Plasma, LED, and now the combination of LCD/LED sets, there are unique problems within each type, which is resolved with the next generation. For example, older CRTs had an issue with picture distortion after several years of use, and the LCD had annoying problems of some pixels dying which resulted in poor quality pictures.

With the backlighting on the LED sets, sometimes the lamps burn out resulting in dark pictures. Regardless of which type of set, there are still problems that are seeking solutions which will certainly be resolved.

One problem that the LCD sets have experienced is overheating because these sets do tend to generate heat. If the television is not properly ventilated where the heat can escape, it can certainly become too hot and begin to experience numerous problems. Make sure the ventilation holes in the back of the set are not covered up, so that the heat can escape.

Even though Panasonic had been known for their excellent quality for several decades, they do experience problems, and one of the most prominent problems is that of color spots forming across the screen – generally blue or purple in color. This has generally been a result of some type of magnetic materials getting close to the screen that reacts to the inner functions of the system. These could be stereo speakers, alarm clocks, or any other device that has internal magnets.

Another problem that some consumers have experienced is with the remote control for these sets. It tend to be problematic when the set has been off for a long period of time, and the remote has to be directly in front of the set and no more than eight feet away.

The problem reported is that it will turn the set on, but none of the other functions work for about 15 minutes, and there tends to be some dead zones that the television sets simply does not pick up the signals from the report at certain angles.

One of the more unique problems that have been reported is a high pitched wine that comes from within the set. This problem turned out to be in the power supply that was faulty and when it is replaced the problem is eliminated.

Two problems that Panasonic has experienced with the screens include a problem with the viewing angle and the screens were dying after only a couple of years. It appeared to be due to a problem in the manufacturing process with the company that made the LCD screens for Panasonic.

Currently, they believe they have solved all the problems by using the new In-Plane Switching panels that also have solved the viewing angle issue and have resolved that as well with these new screens.

When there appears to be uneven spots on the LED TV, these are called hot or dim spots because some areas of the set are lit better than others, and this easily shows up on a screen that has just a grey image and it shows up as streaks or just spots of light in different areas of the screen. It’s more prevalent with the edge-lit sets that the full array, and for the majority of shows that most consumers what, it’s rarely noticeable.

Even though each set goes through an excellent quality assurance process, there are always a few Panasonic TV Problems that slip through the cracks and show up. One good aspect about Panasonic has been their excellent customer service in getting these problems repaired in a timely manner.

In some cases, it requires a service tech to come and make the necessary repairs, and in rare instances the entire set has to be replaced. Regardless of the problem that occurs, whether it’s with the plasma, LCD, or LED sets, Panasonic has a good reputation for working hard to resolve the issue.
